God's Initial Covenants (RD24)

   'Rightly Dividing the Word'

Adamic Covenant
Gen 3:24  So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.
Because Adam and Eve believed the devil's lies (idolatry), they disobeyed God's commandment. They were driven out from the garden of Eden so that they could no longer partake of the tree of life.
Beware lest you believe the lies of the devil (heresies) and then disobey and reject Jesus's commandments, you too will be barred from partaking of His bread of life and the tree of life in New Jerusalem.

Marriage Covenant
Mark 10:6-8  But from the beginning of the creation, God 'made them male and female.' 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh."
Marriage is between a man and a woman, so same sex marriage is an abomination.
Since the two are joined to become one flesh at marriage, God forbids sexual immorality, which will destroy this monogamous union. God also hates divorces.
Mark 10:9  "Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate."

Burnt Offerings to the Lord
Gen 4:4-5  Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.
Both Cain and Abel offered to the Lord the produce of the land. Abel's offering was accepted because he willingly offered it with a cheerful heart.
Cain's offering was not accepted because God told him that 'he did not do well', which can mean he was either:-
1. unwilling to offer to God,
2. disrespectful to the offering,
3. sinful, evil and wicked, or
4. without the fear of God
Gen 4:6-7  So the Lord said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it."

Noahic Covenant
Gen 8:20  Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
After the deluge, Noah offered clean animal and birds as burnt offerings to the Lord, which were completely burned for he rejoiced in giving and serving the Lord.
Depraved men without the fear of the Lord, and just like Cain, unwillingly, offered sacrifices in idolatry, by keeping some burnt offerings for food.
God gave meat from both clean and unclean animals and birds to men as food, but He forbids the eating of blood and also of meat from animals (strangled) with blood not drained out since there is life in blood.
Gen 9:3-4  Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs. But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.

Law in Noahic Covenant
Gen 9:6  "Whoever sheds man's blood, By man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man."
Because man was created in God's image, so He forbids men to:-
1. Eat food offered to idols
2. Eat blood - the source of life
3. Eat strangled animals
4. Sexual immorality
Since all men (Egyptians, Indians, Chinese, etc.) were descendants of Noah they have to keep the Noahic Covenant.

Keeping the Noahic Covenant
Acts 15:28-29  For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well.
Jesus came to fulfil and obsolete only the Law and the Prophets of the Mosaic Covenant, so Christians still have to keep the Noahic Covenant.
