Unleavened Shewbread in the Holy Place
Manna from Heaven
Exo 16:31 And the house of Israel called its name Manna. And it was like white coriander seed, and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.
After God had brought the Israelites out of Egypt, they rebelled for they were starving from hunger. So God gave them manna from heaven as food for forty years during their wandering in the wilderness.
Exo 16:35 And the children of Israel ate manna forty years, until they came to an inhabited land; they ate manna until they came to the border of the land of Canaan.
Unleavened Beard of Manna
Num 11:6-8 but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!" Now the manna was like coriander seed, and its color like the color of bdellium. The people went about and gathered it, ground it on millstones or beat it in the mortar, cooked it in pans, and made cakes of it; and its taste was like the taste of pastry prepared with oil.
Manna was the only source of cereal available to the Israelites, which they used to make into bread, cakes and wafers for food.
For their religious obligations, unleavened bread, cakes and wafers were made from manna until they entered Canaan land, when God stopped giving them manna because they could harvest wheat and other food there.
Exo 29:2 and unleavened bread, unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil (you shall make them of wheat flour).
Leaven means Wrong Doctrines
Mat 16:11-12 How is it you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread?—but to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees." Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Leaven in bread is just like wrong doctrines and heresies taught by the Pharisee and Sadducees to justify their hypocrisies.
Unleavened bread is bread made solely from flour (manna), without leaven (yeast or other raising agent). So Christians (royal priesthood) must only eat unleavened bread (the bread of life from heaven) without leaven (heresies).
Manna and Law Led to Death
John 6:49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
Manna was like the Mosaic law and commandments of the Old Covenant, which brought death. Only the bread of life (Jesus) can give us everlasting life.
Rom 7:10-11 And the commandment, which was to bring life, I found to bring death. For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it killed me.
Flesh of Jesus was the Word
John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world."
Jesus was the Word made flesh. Whoever reads meditates, believes, obeys and keeps the word of God is eating the flesh of Jesus.
Christians must believe and keep only the Word of God comprising of the words of Jesus and the Apostles' Epistles. He must not adulterate it with Mosaic law, men's doctrines, worldly wisdom and heresies.
Christians loves Heresies
2 Tim 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
God is sad that in the last days, Christians will turn away from the truth but to commandments of men with distorted truth, wrong doctrines and heresies to justify their carnal desires and their fears of keeping God's commandments.
He also warned that their worships are all in vain.
Mat 15:8-9 "'These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, hut their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'"
