Worship God In Spirit (RD29)

    'Rightly Dividing the Word'

Worship in Spirit and Truth
John 4:21  Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father."
Our Lord Jesus prophesied that it would not be long before God would not accept the worship of Jews in both the temple of God in Jerusalem nor on the mountain in Samaria, but only true worshippers, who worship Him in Spirit and in truth.
John 4:23  "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him."

God is Spirit
John 4:24  " God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
Every physical body of Christian is the spiritual temple of God. Since Christians are His royal priesthood, their worship of God will be their faithful services to Him. So a Christian must ensure that the temple of God is properly equipped, holy and acceptable to God.
I Cor 3:16  Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

Things Freely Given to Us
I Cor 2:12  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
Jesus the Son of God was the Word made flesh. Because of His complete obedience to God He was perfected, so that He could give us His precious blood for the atonement of sins, His pure water for cleansing (sanctification) and His resurrected Spirit for transformation into His image.
To worship God in Spirit, a royal priest (Christian) must use these three precious elements to build His spiritual temple that is holy and acceptable to Him.

Precious Blood of Jesus
The blood is mainly used at the bronze altar for the atonement of sins. Having confessed his sins, a Christian can operate the gifts of the Holy Spirit to teach, help and encourage new believers, so that they too can rejoice at the faithfulness of God in His love, mercies, healing, deliverance, etc.

Pure Water of Jesus
John 15:3  You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
Pure water in the bronze laver is for the cleansing of the conscience or sanctification. The disciples who followed and believed Jesus and His word were cleansed and made holy, so that they were no longer conformed to the former lusts.
At the laver, a Christian who is holy will be able to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
I Pet 1:14-15  as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,

Resurrected Spirit of Christ
Rom 8:11  But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
Once a Christian is holy, the Holy Spirit will lead him into the Holy Place or secret place of God in Psalm 91. In secret, he will pray, fast and give alms.
As he keeps His words just like partaking the hard and difficult to eat unleavened bread, the Holy Spirit will enlighten him with truth and revelations at the lampstand.

Worship God in Spirit
Rom 12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
A Christian, having his sins atoned by His precious blood, sanctified by His pure water (Word) and transformed by His Spirit to be a holy living sacrifice, he has performed his priesthood service which is acceptable to God.
A Christian worships God in Spirit when he uses the three elements (the Spirit, the water and the blood) given by Jesus to build his spiritual temple of God.
I John 5:8  And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.  (NKJV)
