Truth is in Jesus
John 4:24 "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
Christians must worship God in Spirit and in truth. To worship God in Spirit is to believe that his physical body is the temple of God and he must use the precious elements (Spirit, water and blood) given by Jesus to make his body (temple) holy and acceptable to Him.
Since the truth is in Jesus, so we must look to Jesus - to learn from Him and to be taught by Him.
Eph 4:20-21 But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:
Truth Came through Jesus
John 1:17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
God sent Jesus to this world, filled with grace and truth, and we must get this truth from Him in order to be a true worshipper of God.
God has warned us not to keep any part of the Mosaic law in our worship and walk with God otherwise we will fall from His grace by losing our salvation.
Gal 5:4 You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
Abide in Jesus for Truth
John 8:31-32 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
It is only by abiding or keeping His word that His word becomes the truth. Having known the truth, we will be set free from worldliness, bondages and most of all the fear of pain and death.
John 17:17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
Some of the Truths
1. Some Attributes of God
God is One but He reveals Himself to man as the Triune Godhead, so that we can appreciate and learn from the perfect love displayed in the harmonious relationships of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (as Partner or Helper).
God is love. He is righteous, just, merciful, upright and faithful to His words and promises. He is a God of justice and mete out judgment. He cannot lie.
2. Salvation by Faith
Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
3. Jesus is the Only Way
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
4. Rewards by Works
Mat 16:27 "For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works."
5. Doing God's Work
John 6:29 Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."
6. Jesus' Words are Spirit and Life
John 6:63 "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life."
7. Those Who Loves Jesus
John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments."
8. A Very Important Truth
Mat 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven."
Note that only those who does the will of the Father in heaven can enter the kingdom of heaven. These are some of God's will:-
1. Be Holy
I Pet 1:16 because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."
2. Be Humble
Jam 4:6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."
3. Be Merciful
Luke 6:36 "Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful."
4. Be Perfect
Mat 5:48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
5. Love as Jesus had Loved
John 15:12 "This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you."
Brethren, since God is dwelling within us and we have set our minds on heavenly things, so wherever we are and in whatever situation we are in, as long as we are sincerely keeping His truth and doing His will, then we are worshipping Him in truth.
